Is The Drama Chicago Med Coming For New Season 8?

Back in 2020, NBC announced a three-season renewal for each of the three shows, with the chance that each might continue to air well beyond the 2023 season. On April 20, 2022, Chicago Med broadcast its most recent episode, titled “Like a Phoenix Rising From the Ashes,” and things couldn’t have gotten any more exciting throughout the densely packed show. This week’s episode was adequately emotional and plot-driven due to the fact that it dealt with a number of interesting and unique instances.
Doctor Dylan Scott’s (Guy Lockard) relationship problems were addressed, as was his nervousness about dealing with a woman who had such powerful connections to the underworld. With the season coming to a finish in less than four weeks, Chicago Med has been building in intensity over the course of the last few episodes, and this episode was one of the most significant stepping stones in the show’s development.

The intensity of this episode is palpably different from that of the episodes from the middle of the season from the very beginning. This is purely a network ploy to draw attention away from the impending season finale. Immediately following the opening sequence, this episode delves into complex subjects such as Dylan’s paranoia despite being in Milena’s company (Riley Voelkel).
Soon after, the focus moved to the happenings in the hospital, and a slew of cases took over the storyline entirely. Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) had to deal with a very difficult and emotional case involving a suicidal patient who went on a hunger strike, which was played by Platt. This episode, despite the opportunity to make a societal commentary on capitalism, chose to concentrate on the mental health difficulties that were present in this setting.
Aside from this instance, there are a lot of other notable ones. With so many different scenarios, the pacing was perfect. Dr. Charles’ case and Halstead’s (Nick Gehlfuss) problematic surrogate pregnancy were frequently mentioned in the episode’s narrative.
There was a lot of drama in this episode. These aren’t your average set of circumstances. Adding to the two compelling cases discussed above, there was also a case of a drunken patient who refused to admit to it.
The final third of the episode was filled with revelations and resolutions, and not all of them in the proper way. Unlike Dr. Charles’ patient, Dr. Choi (Brian Tee) had to deal with a patient who had ties to his father in unexpected ways.
The episode ended with just the right amount of tension and tiredness to set the stage for even more of the same in the weeks to come.
