The story of 40 Years Young centres on César, a chef played by Eric Elias, who competes in a cooking contest alongside his closest friend and business partner Paolo (Adam Ramones).
It is a contest steeped in excitement and expectation until César’s personal life is shaken by a series of stunning revelations, which all jeopardise his participation in the tournament. The contest itself is shrouded in excitement and anticipation.
Plot of 40 Years Young
It’s not often that one comes across a movie that’s so vivid yet so lifeless, but that’s exactly what you get with 40 Years Young. It is airy, vivid, and quite fluffy, but it makes broad, sweeping strokes, which prevent it from ever having any genuine depth.
It’s a pity since a good deal of the movie had very good intentions, but as a result of the fact that it never really allowed you a chance to zero in on these aspects, the movie came out as being quite an undercooked as a result.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that this was something that rubbed off on the way that many of the characters and their actions were written too, as the film, in general, was very transitory and whimsical; it was something that rubbed off.
I believe that even if the plot of 40 Years Young were about something that even remotely resembled the deep end of a swimming pool, there would still be moments in the movie that are just so strange and rushed — almost as if they were still just bullet points on a script outline — that they would yank you right out of the movie, completely shattering any illusion you might have that what you are watching is real.
There is so much in 40 Years Young that is so incredibly nonsensical The script was overly basic, which takes me back to my first criticism, which is that the movie never spent enough time to properly investigate and analyse any of the topics that it only skimmed over.
However, It Is Simple to Forget About
Despite Even though have had these issues, I would say that the thing that 40 Years Young is most guilty of is being a very forgettable and short-lived album. In terms of the viewer’s perspective as well as the critical stance, it had little impression on me at all.
It is almost unbelievable how little I have to say about the movie. In most cases, regardless of the quality of the movie’s overall production, it will present its audience with numbseverals worthy of discussion.
With 40 Years Young, it’s as if I haven’t even watched anything, which, although innocuous in the sense that I’m not going around enraged by what I’ve just observed, is in some ways worse because it made almost no impact all. The fact that it hasn’t elicited much of a reaction of any kind is frustratingly counterproductive.

In general, I am unable to give 40 Years Young any kind of recommendation at all. It’s not a terrible movie, but by the time it’s over, you won’t care about any of the characters or the plot at all, so you might as well just skip it.
It has the sense of one of those Lifetime movies, which are produced for television in ordtohousewives and husbands’ company throughout the day, but which add absolutely nothing in the way of conversation after dinnertime.
Do yourself a favour and skip the movie 40 Years Young since it’s not the kind of movie that will make you want to talk about it with your friends for any reason at all.
