Country music star Jon Pardi is getting ready to become a first-time father, and he’s “excited” about the prospect.
The singer-songwriter, who is expecting a baby girl with his wife Summer, recently opened up about the news in an interview with People magazine.
“I’m excited,” Pardi said. “I’m not ready for high school yet, but I’m ready for this.”
Pardi, who is known for his hit songs “Head Over Boots” and “Dirt on My Boots,” said he and his wife are “really looking forward” to the arrival of their daughter.
“We’re just trying to get everything ready and make sure we’re prepared,” he said. “We’re just trying to enjoy the moment and take it all in.”
The couple, who married in 2018, have been together for more than a decade. Pardi said he’s looking forward to the new chapter in their lives.
“It’s a new adventure,” he said. “It’s a new chapter in our lives and we’re just excited to see what it brings.”
Pardi, who is currently on tour, said he’s looking forward to taking some time off after the baby is born.
“I’m going to take some time off and just be a dad,” he said. “I’m looking forward to that.”
Pardi’s fans are also excited for the couple, and have been sending their well-wishes on social media.
“Congrats to Jon and Summer on their new bundle of joy!” one fan wrote on Twitter.
