Presidents of the United States just don’t drive that much. They never drive themselves anywhere, in fact. Because, for safety reasons, they are not allowed to do so as long as they are in office. That’s a big deal for President Joe Biden, who is the 46th President of the United States. Because if you look at his collection of old cars, you can tell that he is a real gearhead.
Biden has been interested in cars for a long time. The President also has a small but well-kept collection of classic cars and other old metal. All of which is illegal for him to drive. The President can sometimes break the rules a little bit, especially when he’s a guest on Jay Leno’s Garage.
In this episode, Biden drives his favorite 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, which he says can go up to 118 mph. He also drags races Colin Powell’s son Michael Powell, who is driving a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and tries out the all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning. For a guy who doesn’t get to drive at very often, this was a great day.
