After the investigation is over, Charles receives a suitable position in the Brazzos revival and approaches Joy, his beautician. Mabel and Alice also pick up where they left off, and Oliver makes amends with his son, who is aware that they are not biologically connected. With yet another gorgeous guest star, Only Murders in the Building has already set up their upcoming third season, but they must now find out how to prevent a new Achilles heel: repetition. I have faith that Steve Martin and the team will find fresh inspiration in their wake, but there needs to be a stronger focus on how closely the murder ties into the lives of the three major cast members. Without that focal point, the show will lose its momentum far more quickly than we had anticipated.
