There are so many animated movies and drama released on Netflix but this Over the Moon is a musical fantasy movie given by Glen Keane which follows the story of a little girl who wanted to go to the moon so her wish is fulfilled and her father didn’t get another women to her house as till she can’t forgot and came out of her mother’s death.
She listens to the story of a moon princess or the goddess of the Moon whose name is Chang’e and wants everyone to believe that Chang’e exist in reality over the moon.
Before releasing the film in limited theatres and on Netflix it came at Montclair Film Festival on October 17, 2020 and then on October 23, 2020.
At the 93rd Academy Awards function the film was nominated for the BEst Animated Feature film and also a Golden Globe Nomination for it.
It earned $860,000 against the budget of $860,000 and it was released in the United States and in China which has a running time of 100 minutes.
Netflix is the distributor to release the film worldwide and Netflix Animation, Pearl Studio, Dentsu Entertainment, Sony Pictures Imageworks and Glen Keane Productions are the production companies for making this animated film which is different from other cartoon movies and features songs in it.

Over The Moon Plot
Over the Moon 2020 Netflix movie follows the adventure trip of a little girl named Fei Fei who always heard the story of a moon goddess who is finding her lover Houyi, from her mother and she also believed in it that she existed.
Every time when Moon Festival came then bake mooncakes and celebrate it with their family and one day her mother passed away but before Fei got a gift from her mother and that is a white rabbit whose name is Bungee and always stay with Fei Fei until Bungee mets with the other rabbit on the Moon.
Now the time passed and it has been four years since her mother passed but still she remained sad and always reminds her mother. But when she heard a news of her father who is going to marry another woman- Ms. Zhong, who has a son who is so annoying and Fei Fei doesn’t like it as he always teases her.
She wanted no other woman to take the place of her mother and then she decided to go to the moon to meet Chang’e so that she can wish whatever she wants from her father. She made a rocket in a rabbit shape and she is followed by her brother Chin and her little rabbit to the adventure moon.
To increase the speed of her rocket she uses fireworks and finally succeeds in reaching the moon with the help of dragons who are playful spirits and they take these three to Lunaria where Fei Fei is welcomed by Chang’e but not in the same way as she expected.
They introduced each other and then she made an announcement that she will bring her lover Houyi back. She will fulfil the winner’s wish and all of them start to compete and find Houyi. She also takes pictures of Chang’e but Chang’e takes her pictures back and wants her to find her lover and then Fei feels sad and frustrated leaving her cousin behind to find her gift.
Meanwhile on the other side Chin wins a ping pong game which made Chang’e sad and she trapped him in her chamber while their rabbit follows the moon rabbit.
In the end when Fei Fei finds the gift by remembering the mooncake she brings the jade circle and then Chang’e and Houyi meets again in which Houyi is fading and he tells that she has to move on, which makes her more sad and she goes into the state of depression and the light in Lunaria is decreasing.
Along with Chang’e, Fei Fei also felt sad as her mother is not alive and both go into a state of sadness or depression but they make each other understand that they should now move on and heal themselves from this condition as their loved ones are gone.
When accepting this reality the light of Lunaria came again and now she thanked to the little girl and makes them allow to go back to their home but their rabbit stays on the moon with moon’s rabbit and from that time she accepted her new mother and brother and they all lived happily in the ending and looking towards the moon at the night time when cranes fly.
