If you’re a fan of the hit Netflix show Outer Banks, you’ve probably been wondering if the show is ending with season 4. After all, the show has been a huge success and has gained a massive following since its debut in 2020.
The good news is that Outer Banks is not ending with season 4. In fact, the show has already been renewed for a fifth season. This means that fans can look forward to more adventures with the Pogues and Kooks in the future.
So what can we expect from season 4? Well, the show’s creators have been tight-lipped about the plot of the upcoming season, but we do know that it will pick up right where season 3 left off. We can also expect to see some new characters and storylines as the show continues to explore the lives of the Pogues and Kooks.
In addition to the renewal of the show, the creators have also announced that they are working on a spin-off series. This spin-off will focus on the lives of the Kooks and will be set in the same universe as Outer Banks.
So if you’re a fan of Outer Banks, you can rest assured that the show is not ending with season 4. There’s still plenty of drama and adventure to come in the future. Be sure to stay tuned for more updates on the show and its spin-off series.
The Pogues will return for Season 4 of Outer Banks. Although the third season was just released, Netflix has already announced that the teen drama will return with more treasure-hunting adventures and romance.
Outer Banks follows John B Routledge (Chase Stokes) and his friends Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and JJ (Rudy Pankow) as they search for buried treasure on the North Carolina coast. Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline), a “Kook” with a wealthy father, ends up falling for John B.
The teens become entangled in a vast conspiracy to locate the gold hoard, with Sarah’s own father, Ward, serving as the main antagonist (Charles Esten). Other potential treasures are being dangled in front of the various hunters, and Outer Banks season 4 could feature the biggest one of all.

Netflix has not yet announced a release date for Outer Banks season 4.It has, however, received approval. The cast made the announcement at Poguelandia, an immersive fan event. Netflix later announced the news on social media, writing:

We can speculate on a possible release date for Outer Banks season 4 based on the show’s history. Season 1 premiered in April 2020, with season 2 following 15 months later in July 2021.
Season 3 took longer to complete and was released more than a year and a half later
We’ll get a better sense of season 4’s arrival once production begins, as it takes about a year from the start of filming to the premiere. With no word of filming starting soon, it’s likely that it won’t start until late spring or summer of this year.
Our best guess for the release date of Outer Banks season 4 is sometime in summer 2024.

The Plot of Outer Banks Season 4 and the Conclusion of Season 3 –
In the season three finale, the Pogues travel to South America in search of the legendary treasure of El Dorado and to save John B’s father, Big John. Of course, Sarah’s father Ward arrives on the scene as well, though the Pogues arrive first.
After cracking a code, John B. and Sarah enter a gold-filled cave. Unfortunately, they are being pursued by Carlos Singh, the villainous foe who agreed to split the treasure with Ward. During a fight, Big John assists his son and Sarah in escaping, killing Singh but also sealing the cave.
Ward, meanwhile, has caught up with the group and threatens to shoot Big John. Ryan, Singh’s henchman, also arrives, brandishing a gun at Sarah. Ward saves her by tackling Ryan, and the two of them fall off a cliff, presumably to their deaths.
Big John, who has been injured, is bleeding. The Pogues attempt to take him to the doctor, but it is too late. He bids his son farewell for the final time.
Let’s fast forward 18 months. The Pogues are praised for cracking the code to the El Dorado treasure. John B and Sarah have opened a surf shop, Kie is rescuing turtles, Pope is attending college, and JJ has purchased a charter boat.
A new acquaintance then shows them a 1718 captain’s log by Edward Teach — none other than the (real) notorious pirate Blackbeard. The Pogues’ days of treasure hunting aren’t over!
The legend of Blackbeard’s hidden/lost gold stash lives on to this day. For centuries, treasure hunters have been looking for it. One possible location is the Pogues’ home off the coast of North Carolina.
Season 4 of Outer Banks appears to be focused on this new quest for riches, while balancing the adventure with the various romances. Kiara and JJ have finally hooked up after years of friendship, while John B and Sarah are back together and going strong. Pope and Cleo have just started dating.
However, the path of teen love has never been smooth, so we anticipate a lot of turbulence in these relationships.
Is Outer Banks Ending With Season 4?
Netflix has not made any official statements regarding the end of Outer Banks. Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke, the show’s co-creators, previously stated that the show would run for four or five seasons.
However, they recently hinted to Entertainment Weekly(opens in new tab) that Outer Banks could continue for a while — possibly as long as 17 seasons, as Josh Pate joked. “In season 17, we’ll be on Mars,” Jonas Pate added.
Josh Pate, on the other hand, stated, “I’m not sure I could put a real number on it right now — how long it takes to get to that ending may change — but we now know the shape of the story’s ending. We’ll definitely take it for as long as we can.”

When Can I Watch the Outer Banks Season 4 Trailer?
We won’t have a caravan just yet because season three was just released and season four was just confirmed. However, you can watch the teaser trailer for season three right here.
Conclusion
Outer Banks season 4 has been confirmed, which means that the show will have to go even bigger than it did in season 3. The Pogues’ most recent adventure was undoubtedly their most epic to date, as they searched for El Dorado in South America.
Season 3 of Outer Banks increased the action throughout the adventure, but it was the discovery of a premise larger than the Royal Merchant or Cross of Santo Domingo that introduced a mythical city into the mix. This entailed pushing the story into more intense scenarios and increasing the stakes all around. Season 4 of Outer Banks must now find a way to top this.
