The website’s critics consensus reads, “Featuring outstanding work from an excellent cast, The Departed is a thoroughly engrossing gangster drama with the gritty authenticity and soupy morality we have come to expect from Martin Scorsese.”
Andrew Lau, the co-director of Infernal Affairs, who was interviewed by Hong Kong newspaper Apple Daily, said: “Of course I think the version I made is better, but the Hollywood version is pretty good too. made the Hollywood version more attuned to American culture.”
