Endings That Outshine the Originals After Being Deleted

When it comes to movies, the ending is often the most important part. It’s the moment when all the plot threads come together and the audience is left with a satisfying conclusion. But sometimes, the original ending isn’t quite up to snuff. That’s when deleted endings come in. These alternate endings can often be better than the original, providing a more satisfying conclusion to the story. Here are some deleted endings that put the originals to shame.

The Shawshank Redemption: The original ending of The Shawshank Redemption had Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) escaping from prison and reuniting with his friend Red (Morgan Freeman) in Mexico. While this ending was certainly satisfying, the deleted ending was even better. In the deleted ending, Red is released from prison and goes to the same spot in Mexico that Andy told him about. He finds a letter from Andy, telling him that he’s gone to Zihuatanejo, a place they had talked about in prison. Red then goes to Zihuatanejo and finds Andy, and the two friends are reunited. This ending is much more powerful and emotional than the original, and it’s no wonder why it was cut.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King: The original ending of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King had Frodo (Elijah Wood) and Sam (Sean Astin) sailing off into the West, leaving Middle-earth behind. While this ending was certainly bittersweet, the deleted ending was even better. In the deleted ending, Frodo and Sam return to the Shire and are reunited with their friends. This ending is much more uplifting and hopeful, and it’s no wonder why it was cut.

The Dark Knight: The original ending of The Dark Knight had Batman (Christian Bale) taking the blame for Harvey Dent’s (Aaron Eckhart) crimes in order to protect Gotham City. While this ending was certainly noble, the deleted ending was even better. In the deleted ending, Batman is revealed to be alive and well, and he is reunited with his love interest Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal). This ending is much more romantic and hopeful, and it’s no wonder why it was cut.

These are just a few examples of deleted endings that put the originals to shame. While the original endings of these movies are certainly satisfying, the deleted endings provide a more powerful and emotional conclusion to the story. So the next time you watch a movie, keep an eye out for deleted endings that might be even better than the original.
