The movie is unmistakably an example of the journey genre known as “horror as metaphor,” but it does so in a way that ensures the viewer never loses track of the enormous fear that has befallen the town.
The employment of particularly accurate effects and lighting contributes to the creation of a conclusion that is as stunning as it is gruesome. Even when it slips into some very awful cliches, it manages to transcend the trappings that it lays out for itself in order to become something that is uniquely its own.

Before the doll is haunted. Unfortunately, their next-door neighbours are assassinated by a couple who break into their house that night and kill them. The cops murder the man, but Annabelle, the doll’s owner, commits suicide and clings to it. After that, strange things start to happen in the house. The film tells the genesis tale of Annabelle in a frightening, scary, and well-done way that invokes all the elements of horror movies that keep spectators enthralled. In a nutshell, it’s a nightmare… But it’s well worth it.

In true horror movie fashion, they find themselves in over their head when the legend turns out to be real. Other found-footage horror films pale in comparison to The Blair Witch Project. It’s one of the few that actually feels like it’s happening, which is why it’s so frightening.

The family must send someone into “The Further” to rescue their son before something comes through to claim his dead body. Adding alien spirits like the Lipstick-Face Demon, played by the film’s composer, Joseph Bishara, makes for a psychedelic experience. With his screaming score, Bishara creates an atmosphere that sets the tone for this film’s first half. Rose Byrne’s performance as a despondent singer-songwriter and mother is captivating and devastating, and Patrick Wilson’s debut collaboration with James Wan is unforgettable.
Malignant (2021)

The year 2021 was dominated by the movie Malignant. At the very least, it occurred close to Collider. In the beginning of this insane horror movie, Madison (Annabelle Wallis) is seeing what appear to be delusional visions, but she soon discovers that the images are actually true. Despite the fact that the secret of this movie is very easy to figure out, I won’t reveal it here. To say that the third act of Malignant is magnificent lunacy would be an understatement. The Blob
There is something that will never become obsolete about the sight of a real slimy blob making its way through a sleepy little village.
The bare bones of The Blob have been remade numerous times by horror filmmakers (and the 1988 version is great as well), but the original 1958 genre classic is currently being shown on HBO Max. This film is famous not only for its icky killer stuff but also because it is the film debut of Steve McQueen, who plays the only guy who can stop an interstellar entity that grows bigger with each life it takes.
Carnival Of Souls
Herk Harvey’s picture from 1962, which is considered to be one of the finest horror movies ever produced, is considered an early cult classic. It was made for absolutely little money, yet it went on to become an important masterpiece. Candace Hilligoss portrays the role of a lady who, after surviving an automobile accident, begins to see horrific visions. These images take her to a carnival that has been shut down. Although there have been hundreds of horror movies that have followed in this film’s footsteps, the picture is nonetheless incredibly unsettling when viewed in its own right.
Freaky
This gruesome take on Freaky Friday was co-written and directed by Michael Landon (Happy Death Day), who also starred in that film. It tells the story of a young woman (Katharine Newton) who unintentionally switches bodies with a serial killer (Vince Vaughn), who is portrayed in a memorable performance. Landon is one of the few current horror directors who seems to be trying to have fun with his projects, and Newton and Vaughn are having a hell of a good time in it. The film is not flawless, but Landon is one of the few modern horror directors who is trying to have fun with it.
