Cate Blanchett is in talks to join the cast of the upcoming movie adaptation of the popular video game series, Borderlands. The Academy Award-winning actress is reportedly in negotiations to play the role of Lilith, a powerful Siren with magical abilities.
The Borderlands movie is being directed by Eli Roth and produced by Avi Arad, Ari Arad, and Erik Feig. The script is being written by Craig Mazin, who is best known for his work on the HBO series Chernobyl. The movie is set to be released in theaters in 2022.
Blanchett is no stranger to the world of video game adaptations. She previously starred in the 2018 movie adaptation of the popular video game series, Tomb Raider. She also voiced the character of Hela in the 2017 Marvel movie, Thor: Ragnarok.
Blanchett is an incredibly talented actress who has won two Academy Awards for her performances in The Aviator and Blue Jasmine. She has also been nominated for five other Academy Awards, including for her roles in Elizabeth, Notes on a Scandal, I’m Not There, and Carol.
If Blanchett does join the cast of Borderlands, she will be joining an already impressive cast that includes Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black. The movie is sure to be a hit with fans of the video game series, as well as fans of Blanchett’s work.
